ArcTimers Terms of Use & Privacy Policy
01Terms of Use
1. About these terms
ArcTimers (the “app”) is published by Franck Clement, an individual developer based in Canada (“we”, “us”, “our”). These Terms of Use apply to the ArcTimers app for iPhone and iPad and to ArcTimers Pro.
Your use of the app is also governed by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Apple EULA”). These terms add to the Apple EULA. If they conflict on the licence to use the app, the Apple EULA prevails.
By downloading or using the app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Our contact email is support@arctimers.com. The trader contact details required by the EU Digital Services Act are shown on the app’s App Store page.
2. Independent fan project
ArcTimers is an unofficial, fan-made companion app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed, sponsored or approved by Embark Studios AB or by MetaForge.
ARC Raiders and its names, logos, images and other game content are trademarks or property of Embark Studios AB. Other names and marks belong to their respective owners. The app uses game names (such as event and map names) and related icons only to identify the in-game content it refers to.
If you hold rights in content shown in the app and believe it is used improperly, email us and we will review and, where appropriate, remove it promptly.
3. What the app does
- Timeline: shows active and upcoming ARC Raiders map events (Map Conditions) for each map, using schedule data from MetaForge, a third-party community service.
- Tracking: lets you track an event to get a notification when it starts. Free users can track up to 5 events at a time.
- Custom alerts (ArcTimers Pro): saved rules that notify you for every upcoming event matching the event types and maps you choose, at the lead times you choose (for example 15, 10 or 5 minutes before, or at the start).
- Trials: shows the weekly Trials, also using data from MetaForge.
We may add, change or remove features over time.
4. Who can use the app
You must be at least 13 years old, or older if the law where you live sets a higher minimum age for using apps like this one without parental consent. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these terms, and should approve any purchase.
No account is needed to use ArcTimers.
5. ArcTimers Pro purchases
Plans
ArcTimers Pro can be bought as an auto-renewing weekly or monthly subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. Current prices are shown in the app and on the App Store in your local currency before you buy. Pro unlocks unlimited event tracking and custom alerts with lead-time notifications.
Payment
All purchases are processed by Apple and charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. Apple is the seller of record, and Apple’s Media Services Terms and Conditions also apply. Taxes are applied as Apple determines for your country or region.
Automatic renewal and cancellation
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period, at the same length and at the price then in effect, unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in the Settings app: tap your name, then Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- If Apple changes a subscription price, Apple notifies you in advance and, where required, asks for your consent before charging the new price.
Free trials and offers
Some plans may include a free trial for eligible customers. Apple decides eligibility; generally a trial is available only once per Apple Account for the ArcTimers Pro subscription group. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you are charged automatically. Any unused part of a free trial ends when you buy a subscription. Offer codes can be redeemed in the app’s Settings and are subject to the terms shown with the offer.
Lifetime purchase
The lifetime purchase is a one-time payment, not a subscription, and is never renewed or charged again. It unlocks ArcTimers Pro on devices signed in to the same Apple Account, for as long as the app remains available and supported. It does not guarantee that any particular feature, or the app itself, will be offered forever (see section 8).
Restoring and Family Sharing
You can restore purchases on another device signed in to the same Apple Account with Restore Purchases in the app’s Settings. ArcTimers Pro is not shared through Family Sharing.
When Pro ends
If your subscription ends, your saved custom alerts are kept on your device but stop sending notifications until Pro is active again, and you can again track only up to 5 events at a time.
Refunds
Because Apple processes all payments, we cannot issue refunds ourselves. You can request a refund from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Refunds follow Apple’s policies and any rights you have under the law where you live, including any legal right of withdrawal.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the app in a way that breaks any law or the rights of others;
- copy, modify, decompile or reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows it despite this restriction;
- bypass or tamper with the purchase system to access Pro features without paying;
- use the app to overload, scrape or disrupt the data services it relies on.
7. Accuracy of schedules and notifications
Event schedules and Trials come from a third-party service, and the events themselves are controlled by Embark Studios, which can change or cancel them at any time. Information in the app may be delayed, incomplete, wrong or temporarily unavailable.
Notifications are scheduled on your device. Whether they arrive on time depends on factors outside our control, including your notification permission, Focus modes, Low Power Mode, Background App Refresh, network access to update schedules, and your device’s clock and time zone.
We do our best to keep ArcTimers accurate, but we do not guarantee that any event will happen at the time shown or that any notification will be delivered. ArcTimers is a convenience tool for a video game. Do not rely on it for anything important.
8. Changes to the app and availability
We may update, change, suspend or stop offering the app or any feature at any time, for example if a data source stops being available, if Embark changes the game, or if we can no longer maintain the app. We will try to give reasonable notice of major changes through the app or its release notes. This does not reduce any refund or other remedy you are entitled to by law.
9. Intellectual property
The app, including its code, design and original text, belongs to Franck Clement and is licensed to you, not sold, under the Apple EULA. Game content belongs to Embark Studios AB, and schedule data is provided by MetaForge. These terms do not grant you any rights in any of it beyond using the app for your personal, non-commercial use.
10. Disclaimer
To the extent permitted by law, the app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss or damage, or for loss of data, in-game progress, items, opportunities or enjoyment, including from a missed or inaccurate event or notification.
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for all claims related to the app is limited to the amount you paid for ArcTimers Pro in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, such as liability for fraud, gross negligence, intentional misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
12. Your consumer rights
Nothing in these terms removes or limits the rights you have as a consumer under the laws of the country, province or state where you live, including the Quebec Consumer Protection Act and consumer laws in the European Union, United Kingdom and Australia. If any part of these terms conflicts with those rights, those rights prevail.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Canadian province where the publisher resides and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the place where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts of that place where the law allows it.
If you have a problem, please email us first. Most issues can be solved quickly that way.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when features change. We will update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, tell you in the app or in the release notes before they take effect. Changes never apply retroactively to purchases you have already made. If you keep using the app after changes take effect, you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the app and cancel any subscription.
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
02Privacy Policy
In short
- No account, no ads, no analytics, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs.
- Everything you set up in the app (tracked events, custom alerts, preferences) stays on your device. We never receive it.
- The app downloads event schedules and images from MetaForge, whose servers see your IP address, as with any internet request.
- Purchases are handled by Apple. We never see your name, email address or payment details.
- The only personal information we ever receive is what you choose to send us by email.
1. Who is responsible
Franck Clement, publisher of ArcTimers, is responsible for this policy and is the person in charge of the protection of personal information. For any privacy question or request, email support@arctimers.com.
This policy follows Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector. For users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, it also covers the information the GDPR requires.
2. Information stored only on your device
The app stores the following on your device so it can work. It is not sent to us or to anyone else:
- the events you track and the custom alerts you create (event types, maps, lead times and on/off status);
- the time until which custom alerts are paused, if you paused them;
- whether ArcTimers Pro was active at the last check, so Pro features work before the App Store responds;
- simple counters used to decide when to show Apple’s rating prompt;
- cached copies of the latest schedules, Trials and images, so the app opens quickly and works offline.
The app reads your device’s time zone to display times locally. It does not send it anywhere.
Depending on your settings, iOS may include this app data in your device backups (iCloud Backup or a computer backup). Those backups are handled by Apple under Apple’s Privacy Policy.
3. Data downloaded from MetaForge
To show schedules and Trials, the app downloads data from MetaForge (metaforge.app) and images from the servers MetaForge uses to host them. It does this when you open or refresh the app and, if Background App Refresh is on, periodically in the background to keep notifications up to date.
As with any internet request, those servers receive your IP address and standard technical information such as the request time and your operating system version. The app does not send any identifier, account information or personal data with these requests. MetaForge is an independent service and its own privacy policy applies to the requests it receives. We do not receive or have access to MetaForge’s server logs.
The link to MetaForge in the app’s Settings opens its website in your browser, where MetaForge’s own policies apply.
4. Notifications
All notifications are local notifications scheduled on your device by iOS. The app does not use a push notification server and does not collect a device token. You can turn notifications off at any time in the Settings app.
5. Purchases
Purchases and subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple. We do not receive your name, email address, Apple Account details or payment information. The app checks the status of your ArcTimers Pro purchase on your device using Apple’s StoreKit, which returns a transaction record signed by Apple. This check stays on your device.
Apple provides developers with sales and subscription reports in App Store Connect. These reports do not identify you personally.
6. Information Apple may share with us
If you have chosen in your device settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may give us crash reports and aggregated usage statistics (such as number of installs and sessions) through App Store Connect. Apple controls this data under its own privacy policy, and it does not identify you to us. You can turn this off in Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements.
The rating prompt is Apple’s system prompt. Apple handles ratings and reviews, and we only see reviews that are published on the App Store.
7. When you email us
If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if it is part of your email, the content of your message, and anything you choose to include (such as your device model and iOS version).
- Purpose: to reply and to solve your request. We do not use it for marketing.
- Legal basis (GDPR): our legitimate interest in answering you, or the steps needed to handle your request.
- Storage: our email is hosted by Google (Gmail). Emails may be stored on servers outside your country, including in the United States, where they may be accessible to authorities under local law.
- Retention: we keep emails only as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up, and delete them sooner if you ask.
8. What we never do
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We do not use advertising, advertising identifiers, analytics or tracking SDKs, and we do not track you across other apps or websites. The app does not access your location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone or health data.
We may disclose the information described in section 7 only if the law requires it, or where necessary to protect our legal rights.
9. Your choices and rights
Because the app keeps your data on your device, you control it directly:
- stop tracking events and delete custom alerts from within the app;
- turn off notifications or Background App Refresh for ArcTimers in the Settings app;
- delete the app to erase everything it stored on your device, including caches.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, to withdraw consent, to object to or restrict processing, and to receive your data in a portable format. Since the only personal information we may hold is email correspondence, email us to make a request. We will answer within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, to Quebec’s Commission d’accès à l’information if you live in Quebec, or to the data protection authority where you live in the EU, the UK or Switzerland.
10. Children
ArcTimers is not directed to children under 13, and the app does not collect personal information from anyone. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Security
Data stored by the app is protected by the iOS app sandbox and data protection. All network requests use encrypted HTTPS connections. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but because we do not collect your data, very little of it is exposed in the first place.
12. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy if the app’s handling of data changes, for example if a new feature needs new data. We will change the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, tell you in the app or in the release notes before they take effect.
